I have mixed feelings about religion. I support some religions but do not believe or follow any and I absolutely mock others. Religions that believe one superior creator is absolute bullshit. I don’t know why anyone would want to believe an ultimate being created everything and makes rules that should be followed. My theory is that these beliefs were created to keep society in line, to make people harbor fear for making mistakes, and to stop society from thinking outside the box. These one God religions include Catholicism, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism (and then all the ridiculous branches of Christianity). It’s silly because the 3 core single God religions all possess the same story for the most part but each religion claims accuracy over each other. The crusades were a series of religious wars between Christians and Muslims started primarily to secure control of holy sites considered sacred by both groups. Ironically Christians and Muslims religious stories and teaching are essentially exactly the same. Each of these religions are followed by different nationalities who believe they are superior to other nationalities and races. No creature is better than another as everything has its purpose and skills.
One religion I can get on board with is Taoism, as it is more of a life-style practice rather than a God-fearing rule maker. Yin Yang theory is a particularly favorite principle of mine. It’s the idea that everything exists only with its opposite counterpart. For example, good cannot exist without bad. We can only understand things fully when also knowing of its opposite. The representation of balance is in its title. Yin Yang, Black White, Good Bad, Hot Cold, Pain Pleasure. Beliefs like these are more scientific with factual backing as single God religion are in no way supported by any historical fact. The religious books are works of fiction written by a person with an idea to control people.
Another reason religions were created was to ease peoples fear of death and what happens when you die. That brings us to the topic of paranormal things such as ghosts, demons and the afterlife. I’ve heard way too many stories about ghosts to not believe in them. It’s upsetting to think that when you die, that’s it and you don’t exist anymore. How can there be this complex creature that lives for years with feelings, ideas, and accomplishments and then just be deleted from the world by death? On the other hand this could be completely plausible and probably the reality considering how much of a struggle it is to be alive. Death could very well be a relief from life. Single God religions portray paranormal things as demonic and evil. People tend to trash talk things that scare them or things they can’t explain. Simple minded Christians were afraid of “magic” as it was not in their beliefs to think any human could possess magical powers like their God. They saw magical practitioners as blasphemy against their God, they think no one should have power like a God except their God. One of the most horrific crimes Christians committed was the burning, hanging and stoning of women they accused of practicing magic, and herbal medicine. They used this as an excuse to get rid of anyone they wanted. Christianity killed the most people in human history. This was also a time that men were able to kill any women who thought independently or differently from the social norm and religious rules set by society. They could do this by accusing her of being a witch. Since the beginning of time men have wanted to control women and have believed they are superior to them. This is proven wrong so easily by the fact that women harbor life inside of them. A man could never exist without a women, a mother. Of course a man is also required for the creation of life, but they get the easy job and why is that? Why are women secondary citizens when we truly hold a power that no man can? Single God religions were ultimately created by a man to put their gender at the top of the pecking order and we have seen this effect on society for centuries. Even to this day women are secondary to men. Society likes to pretend that women and minority races have equal rights, but this is an illusion. Unfortunately men, particularly white men, will always possess the most power, wealth, and control in our world. God is a man right? Thats why they wrote it that way.
The saying “knowledge is power” is quite ironic to Christian beliefs because Eve ate the apple and created sin. Christianity portrays Eve as the bad one because she wanted to know more about her world and men didn’t want women to be smarter than them. Why would knowledge be a sin other than to control humans? The “Devil” offered truth while “God” wanted to suppress reality. I see the Devil as the rebel who fights against the oppression of control hungry men. If God is a man, the Devil is definitely a woman and she is fierce, understanding, and agreeable. Women are the antichrist and always will be because these religions were made in man’s image, and by man I mean men not mankind.
I hope that when I die, I discover all the answers to these questions I have, but most likely my thoughts will no longer be active, and my body will become part of the dirt and go back to the elements it was created from, as organic cells are scientific, not religious or miraculous.
